I have learned quite a bit these last few paintings: That red is a difficult color to paint, and the temperature in the studio has a major impact on the flow of things. Literally. That I shouldn't try to paint when I'm really, really tired. I've had a few wipers, but because of a certain pressure to post (you know who you are GS) I've lived up to my end of the blog bargain. If you're willing to take the time to check it out, then I had better post, whether I like the painting or not. That said, I do have a few tiny jewelry boxes to paint. And this particular one, I will paint again. Next time you'll be able to see what's inside the darned box, because I vow to start: Earlier in the day. With coffee nearby. And enough time to do the subject justice. Stay tuned...

I hear ya on allll counts Margaret! Exactly what I have been thinking. Red IS difficult. There are so many variations of red, but that true red is a buggar. This painting pops because of it! I had better get to it. Paint on!
