Day 10 of 30

Here we are, one third of the way through the challenge.
It's the "what was I thinking?" portion of the month... tonight I decided to try my hand at the palette knife, and to keep my "Pick" a simple one.

Despite the predicted 90 degree weather tomorrow, it's definitely had that crisp back to school feeling this week. Yet far, far in the back of our refrigerator I found the last of the watermelons.

Here, painted with the knife, is a slice of summer for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy it, and don't be fooled by the heatwave of tomorrow. Summer is over; classes have begun.

I for one am holding onto summer until after the leaves start falling. It's been a while since I had to 'go back to school' so my summer lasts as long as the sun does. It's all a frame of mind isn't it? You can still eat watermelon in October. Now peaches are a different story.
