Here's my post to the Blog Hop Around the World! First, thanks to CJ Holt Roughton for inviting me. You can see her blog at https://aleafinthewindartwork.blogspot.com By way of introduction: My story is a common one: I've always had a pencil, pen or brush in hand. I went to high school and college and focused on art. After a BFA in painting, I went on to study architecture at RISD, and enjoyed that profession for about 25 years. Then back to the easel I went. About three years ago, I got to down to some serious brush work. I've enjoyed studying with some of the best painters I can find, including Rose Franzen, Carol Marine and Scott Christensen. To answer the blog hop questions: 1. What am I working on? Currently I am painting large, a 30 x 48 canvas that is a blend of a still life and landscape. 2.How does my work differ from others in its genre? It's coming from my head, my experiences. I use color and form to interpret the world around me and to highlight what's important to my life experience. 3. Why do I create what I do? It's as if I'm trying to answer a question. It's part of how I experience the world, and what I hope to convey to others. 4. How does my creative process work? I usually collect smaller studies and drawn images and sketches. I think a lot before I paint. Once I begin painting, the world receeds, and I am fully engaged in the process of putting on the canvas the painting that's in my head.I love painting, talking about painting, and especially talking to painters about their art. I've invited Linda Dessaint www.lindadessaint.com/category/lindas-blog/ and Kaethe Bealer kaethebealer.blogspot.com
