What I mean to say is that the flowers are blooming in my studio.
Outside it's still freezing cold. Which is about to change to above freezing cold followed by rain. Topped off by a deep, deep freeze which will highlight any weak spots in our roof. I tell you, ice jacking is the stuff that makes hearty New Englanders weep.
So I turn to flowers.
Zinnias make me happy, and going through my photo files I found this bouquet of beauties, cut in August last year.
The actual painting is 8 x 8 and a bit warmer than my iPhone photo lets on. Last night, a bit of summer bloomed in my studio, and today I'm hoping to keep that feeling going.
Stay tuned.
Note: When started indoors about 6-7 weeks before the last frost, zinnias can be transplanted outside into just about any sunny spot, and will typically bloom 6 weeks later. If you've never started a garden from seed, this is a good place to begin.
