This is a quick study I did a few weeks ago, after Leslie and I interviewed Tim Horn for the Artists Helping Artists radio show.
He is incredibly talented (really, check out his website), and he has such a way with light that I decided to try to copy one of his paintings, just to see if I could learn anything.
The objective for me was to learn about temperature, and I did get a lot out of this quick sketch. Which goes to show that sometimes you just have to get your brushes dirty in order to figure things out.
